A day in the life of a trendsetter...
So you ask, who starts trends? Why am I forced to wear what "Hollywood" says is stylish? Why can't I create my own style and be accepted for who I am?
Trends have been around for ages, it's the reason we read magazines, read blogs and go shopping in the first place. If we didn't have trends, people would walk around in stone-washed jeans with feathered bangs while the rest of the world looks like a page out of Vogue magazine. To be quite honest, it isn't necessarily "Hollywood" that starts the trends, it's the fashion capital of the world, Paris. Designers spend years trying to decide what the next big fashion item is going to be, long hours and lots of material goes into what you see in "Hollywood," and eventually your neighborhood retailer.
Trend: style; vogue according to dictionary.com
You can be your own trendsetter, if you aren't liking the newest trend, put your own spin to it. Hate leggings, want to tear the heels off of high-heeled shoes, do it, take what you see and make it your own and maybe you too can be the next trendsetter.
